Mandrel identification fields are user-definable descriptive fields which can be used to identify individual cost items. Typical identification fields might be Task Manager or Responsible Organization. You can define up to 16 such fields.
Identification fields can be one of three types:
- text fields
- list fields
- date fields
Text Fields
A text field can hold a single line of text. Any series of characters can be accepted.
List Fields
A list field consists of a single-line text field plus a drop-down list of up to 250 selectable items. List fields can be fixed or open (fixed fields only permit selection from the list, whereas open fields will accept typed entries that are not part of the list). Lists can be sorted or unsorted.
Date Fields
Date field entries are normally interpreted as dates, and can be shifted backwards and forwards. However, they can also contain non-date text, e.g. to be announced.
